What Are The Types Of Processors In Intel And AMD?
It is necessary to know that a microprocessor is the part of the computer whose responsibility is to execute the logical operations. Likewise, it is in charge of carrying out arithmetic activities.

Types Of Intel Processors
These Intel processors are classified into three ranges: high-end, mid-range, low-end.
The High-end Processors
These consist of three processors: Intel Core i3, Intel Core i5, Intel Core i7.It is a new architecture inspired by the previous Core 2 Duo “Core” with differences in terms of the new plug, new chipset, new cache hierarchy, presence of integrated video subsystem, Turbo technology (processor core runs automatically faster than the indicated frequency).
Hyper-Threading technology (runs multiple threads at the same time and uses the instructions of the individual threads to keep the processing units always operational).
The Intel Core i3 belongs to the x86 series of microprocessors, they are 64-bit and appeared on the market in 2010. Very similar to the Intel Core i5, introduced in 2009, the two processors however have some differences:
The Core i3s are available in dual-core versions, while the Core i5s feature 2-core and 4-core processors. All Core i3 processors have the integrated video subsystem, while on the Core i5, only the dual-core versions will. The Core i3s do not have Turbo Boost technology.
These i3s are designed for both the desktop and mobile sectors, even if the cores on which the respective versions will be based will be different. The 4th generation Intel Core i7 along with the Core i7 Extreme is very similar in technical characteristics to the two Core i3 and i5 and are used for the higher end of the market.
They are high-performance processors that deliver brilliant images, incredible battery life, and built-in security features, and power to play, create and enjoy. Compared to the Core i5s, the Core i7s have the integrated GPU, an integrated 3-channel and not 2-channel rams controllers like the Core i5s, and the presence of a new serial bus: Intel QuickPath Interconnect (QPI).
The integrated video subsystem is not available on the iCore i7 range.
Apple also uses Intel Cores for its devices.
The Mid-Range Processors
The mid-range consists of Intel Core 2 Duo is Intel Premium Dual Core.
The Intel Core 2 Duo am 8th generation dual-core 64-bit x86 microprocessors, essentially two processor cores working in parallel on a Core 2 Duo. Successor to the Core Duo, there are two versions: one for laptops and another for desktops.
However, these are always based on the same processor but with the difference that the portable version has a lower voltage and 20% less performance than the desktop.
The Intel Core 2 Duo enables good performance for multimedia and games. The dual-core LA intel Premium, which hit the market in 2007, is based on the Conroe-L core, processors based on a major version of the Core 2 Duo. Based on the Core microarchitecture, they offer good processing efficiency.
The Low-End Processors
These consist of Intel Centrino, Intel Centrino Duo is Intel Atom.
These are developed especially for laptops, are based on three key components: CPU, Chipset, Wireless card, and, having been designed for use in the mobile environment.
These are having the right balance between performance and consumption. The Intel Atom is an X86 microprocessor developed for ultra-portable and inexpensive desktop devices. It is small and belongs to low-power CPUs.
AMD Processors
These AMD processors are also classified into three ranges: high-end, mid-range, low-end.
The High-End Processors
These consist of three processors: AMD Phenom II X6, AMD Phenom II X4, Phenom II X2.
A valid alternative to Intel Core i7 processors, the ADM Phenom II X6 is also a 6-core processor with a very high clock frequency. 3.2 GHz vs 3.3 GHz on the Intel i7. The platforms, on the other hand, are 1366 LGA plugs for Intel CPUs and AM3 plugs for AMD.
The AMD Phenom II X4 are quad-core processors ideal for using advanced applications and multimedia.
The AMD Phenom II X2 are dual-core processors that offer high overclocking performance at very reasonable prices.
The Mid-Range Processors
The mid-range consists of processors: Phenom II X3 AMD, AMD Turion II, and AMD Turion Ultra II. The Phenom II X3 AMD, I AMD Turion II, and AMD Turion Ultra II are mid-range dual-core processors developed for inexpensive laptops with an ideal quality/price ratio for those who want to make multimedia use of the computer.
The Low-End Processors
These consist of AMD Sempron, AMD Athlon Neo and AMD Athlon X2 Neo.
These are Integrated with the ATI graphics card, these are very inexpensive processors suitable for low-priced desktops and laptops and are used for browsing the Internet or working with email. In September 2014 the AMD, the Sunnyvale company, released i FX series processors to cover the mid and mid/high range.
The AMD FX series features four product lines: FX 4000 (Quad-Core), FX 6000 (Esa-Core), FX 8000, and FX 9000 (Eight-Core) . The latter is top of the range with operating frequencies that touch 5 GHz and 220 Watts TDP and the most interesting models are: FX-8370, FX-8370E and FX8320E
